This was written by an inexperienced person after reading the first chapter of " Armchair economist". I am happy to share with anyone getting through this worth reading book.
Before coming across it on a random site, i was having sleep loss. I still remember how terrible i wanted to sleep but i could not. I was frustrated that all of my CVs and cover letters might have been thrown in some offices' trash.
The next day's morning, I started to read to calm my mind which was wandering somewhere else, not conscious at all. Focus needed!!!

The price of safe choices
What has repeated over and over again are "incentive matters" and " if the price is low, they'll choose to buy less".
These two accompanied with various examples finally give me the explanation of feelings i had yesterday. So hopeless. So worthless. I finally got why those employers did not choose me and how i was wasting time and then gained no experience.
They did not choose me because what they saw were not what I wanted them to see. I gave them a picture of such a boring person, lack of motivation and commitment. I could see that as when writing those cvs and cover letters, I veered towards safety.
The first chapter's headline is " how seatbelts kill". Seatbelts and other safety legislations keep us safe but at the same time, we drive less carefully. We no longer notice any chances of accidents because we believe that we are in the environment free of risks.
What employers expect is not a person preferring safe options in every work he or she has done. Extra curricular activities should be challenging tasks in stead of staying in the comfort zone where a few skills are shown. When taking tasks in events and projects, i usually prefer to be a member, a backup team rather than a leader , "front" team ( i dont know how to call them as i havent been there). It's not which project you're in, the work you choose to take matters.
I thought " low price, buy more" was just in economy but in fact it's a general principle of human behaviours. It relates to incentives. The price of turning to safe options are the probability to be rejected and even the dark future. If I had been aware of this price which is always HIGH, I would step out of my comfort zone and take risks instead. In addition, this price was quite difficult to notice unless I had a good vision ,going back to old days.

It's summer and i've got Plan B to Z. After several rejections, i still want to try no matter how terrible I may feel when i cant get the job.
I'm not going to waste another summer just like the way I did in highschool and first year of college.
If only I've got a time machine to change what make me now

No more a Wimpy kid at school - 4 songs that can help you make changes
Have you ever hated your highschool so much that nightmare begins
when waking up every morning to go to school. Have you ever felt so small? Sometimes you are invisible when standing next
to someone’s spotlight. Have you ever been called a weirdo, a freak at
school? I thought I would never have any
way to get out of this mess. I thought I was going to waste my four years invisible. Looking at those ‘fabulous’ girls
and boys, I was ashamed of myself not because of my family or my fat look but
just me having no talent. I kept everything to myself for a year, not telling
my mom. My guitar has been my best friend, she helped me get through those
days. The year after, I signed up the contest at school, singing “ Mean” by
Taylor Swift to the ones making feel small. I won the 2nd prize. Of
course, it was not a movie, so I was never in that popular group. But I knew
that I got something so much more. I was inspired to be more confident, to
believe in my true identity, to get me free of those nonsense judge.
Below are songs that I’d replayed in my private playlist
named “ I WON” , I downloaded from Youtube to mp3:
1.
Mean- Taylor Swift
“
Some day, I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me
And
all you’re ever gonna be is mean
Why
you gotta be so mean ? “
This
song had motivated me a lot, since I saw one of my friend hit by another big
boy at school. I was so angry but you know, small people can not fight back. I
chose to cover this song in the contest not only to cheer up my friend but also
hit a millions hit on the big boy’s face. If we can not win physically, we can
be much stronger in our minds.
2.
Popular – Mika ft. Ariana Grande
“
My problem
I
never was a model
I
never was a scholar
But
you were always popular
It’s
not about who you are or your fancy car
It’s
always who you are…”
The
music video of this song is fantastic especially the last part. The revenge was
super sweet, all of those Mean girls and boys turned into statues then were
were broken into pieces. At last, what they do to small people like us will be
paid back.
3.
Loser like me
I
prefer Glee version than the original one as Lea Michele’s voice conveyed the
full message
“
You wanna be
You
wanna be
A
loser like me
A
loser like me”
I
was thinking of the day when I would be the boss that the big boy worked for.
That would be so much fun.
"I know that one day you will scream my name
But I'll look away"
"I know that one day you will scream my name
But I'll look away"
4.
Hopeful- Bars and melody
These
two boys are talented. They have the audio version available on youtube and the
music video that can blew this roof away. Whenever I play this song in my ipod,
I just want to dance around my room . I like the way that he rapped . I never
enjoy listening to rap songs but this boy made me have a second thought. What
he rapped is what he found difficult to express. Everything is easy to
understand. He used music as his personal speakman.
Just be who you are. That will stop every bad feeling you have about yourself, which has been caused about those mean girls and bullies
